About SWARM: The Virtual Locker Room for Sports Teams
Swarm was started in San Diego in 2010 by two seasoned software veterans who are also Dads, coaches of their children’s sports teams, and avid sports fans. The concept of Swarm is simple – to improve the team sport experience, not just for players and coaches, but also for Moms, Dads, volunteers, leagues, and fans. Swarm offers a software solution unlike any other that brings together everyone involved with the team into a “virtual locker room” that looks and functions just like a real team locker room.
The virtual locker room has something for everyone associated with the team or league. Everyone can view team schedules, messages, win/loss reports and player awards. There is also a team video room for posting videos of games and creating game highlights. Players have their own area of the locker room called “the players locker.” Coaches and staff also have their own space within the locker room called “the coaches office” to manage the team.
The founders of Swarm believe in three guiding principles:
- We believe everyone should participate in team sports at some time in their life, not to be the best, but to have an opportunity to try their best.
- We believe those who volunteer time and effort to make team sports a reality deserve to have tools and solutions to allow them to succeed.
- We believe the time is now to apply today’s proven web based technologies to the management of team sports.
